Boston is the capital city and most populous municipality of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in the United States. The city proper covers 48 square miles (124 km2) with an estimated population of 673,184 in 2016, making it the largest city in New England and the 22nd most populous city in the United States. Boston is one of the oldest cities in the United States, Great Britain, it continued to be an important port and manufacturing hub as well as a center for education and culture. with nearly 2,000 start-ups. Boston’s economic base also includes finance, professional and business services, biotechnology, information technology, and government activities. Perhaps no other city in America holds as much history of the colonial and Revolutionary War era as Boston. It’s not surprising then that its main sites have become a pilgrimage trail for Americans and for others who hope to get a sense of that history. But more than that, the Freedom Trail is a good introduction to today’s city, connecting or passing close to some of its best loved tourist attractions. Boston
